(episode begins with Little Bill and Fuchsia pretending to be cowboys.)

Fuchsia: "Giddy up, horsie, let's go! Neigh!"

Little Bill: "Yee-haw!"

Fuchsia: "I'm a cowgirl. Look at me, Little Bill!"

Little Bill: "I'm a cowboy."

Fuchsia: "Ride that horse. Neigh. Neigh. Yee-haw!"

(Little Bill laughs)

Fuchsia: "Yee-haw!"

(Little Bill continues galloping until he rolls over and falls down.)

Fuchsia: (gasps)

Little Bill: "Ow! Ow... (starts crying)

Fuchsia: "Little Bill, are you okay?"

Little Bill: (sobs) "Ow... I hurt my arm. Ow!" (The door opens and Alice comes out)

Alice: "What happened, Little Bill?"

Little Bill: "Alice the Great, my arm hurts! (sobs)

Fuchsia: "He fell."

Alice: "Hmm, Let me take a look." (tries to touch the arm)

Little Bill: "Ow!"

Alice: "Come on honey. Hold still." (Little Bill holds still as Alice examines the arm.

Little Bill: "It hurts. I want mama."

Alice: "Okay, baby. We'll call your mama. I think we better get you to the hospital. That arm might be broken."

Little Bill: "No!" (sobs)

Alice: "Don't you worry. Everything's gonna be just fine."

(We now fade cut to the hospital. Little Bill and Alice the Great are in the waiting room. A man and a pregnant woman are seen coming out of an elevator.)

'Man on P.A: "Calling Dr. Weinstein. Calling Dr. Weinstein.)

Little Bill: "My arm hurts. Where's mama?"

Alice: "She should be here, soon. She's rushing right over from work."

Little Bill: "Ow!"

Alice: "I know your arm hurts, honey. But you're gonna see the doctor soon."

Little Bill: "What's the doctor gonna do?"

Alice: "We'll, he'll look at your arm real close, and maybe ask you a few questions.

Little Bill: "And then what?"

Alice: "Well then, he'll know just what to do to make the hurt go away."

'Little Bill: "He will?"

Alice: "Mm-hmm. He'll make things better in no time."

(Just then, Brenda comes out of the elevator.)

Brenda: "Oh, baby, are you okay?"

Little Bill: (sobs) "Mama I hurt my arm. (continues sobbing.)

Brenda: "Oh, baby, I know. Everything's gonna be alright. Mama's here."

Little Bill: (sniffs) "I'm scared."

Brenda: "I know, honey. But the doctor's gonna make your arm better, and I'll be with you every step of the way."

Nurse: "Bill Glover? Bill Glover?"

Little Bill: "It's "Little Bill.""

Nurse: "The doctor will see you now, Little Bill."

Brenda: "It's okay. Let's go."

Alice: "Go on, Little Bill. I'll be right here." (kisses Little Bill)

(Little Bill and Brenda follow a nurse to the doctors office. Just then, Dr. Clinkscales arrives.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Well hello there, Little Bill."

Brenda: "Look, it's Dr. Clinkscales. Miss Murray's husband."

Little Bill: "Hello."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Hey, ring bear. Let's take a look at your arm. So, Little Bill, what happened to you?"

Little Bill: "I was playing cowboy with my cousin, Fuchsia, and I fell down and hurt my arm."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Oh I see. Let me take a look."

(Dr. Clinkscales feels Little Bill arm.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "This might hurt a little bit."

Brenda: "You be a brave cowboy, Little Bill."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Hmm. Does it hurt here?"

Little Bill: "Mm-mm."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Hmm. Does it hurt here?"

Little Bill: "Ouch."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Well, we'll take care of that. You're doing great, Little Bill."

Brenda: "You're being so brave, baby."

Little Bill: "I think I feel better, now. Can we go home?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "And miss getting an x-ray? You don't wanna pass that up."

Little Bill: "Is it gonna hurt?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "Nope. And when we're done, we'll know just how to fix that arm, okay?"

Little Bill: "Okay."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Great. Come with me."

(Dr. Clinkscales brings Little Bill down)

Dr. Clinkscales: (off-screen) "Down we go.

(Dr. Clinkscales walks into the room.)

Brenda: (to Little Bill) "It's okay."

(All three of them walk in the x-ray room.)

Little Bill: "What's that?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "That's the x-ray machine."

Little Bill: "Mmm."

Dr. Clinkscales: "It may look a little scary, but it's just a great big camera."

Little Bill: "Mama has a camera. But it's not like that."

Dr. Clinkscales: "That's because x-ray cameras take pictures of your bones. Like those (refering to the pictures of the bones on the wall."

Little Bill: "They're like dinosaur bones at the museum."

(Little Bill imagines himself at a museum with dinosaur bones)

Little Bill: (singing) "I broke my arm. I broke my arm. I'm so sad. I broke my arm. I had to go to hospital. I got the blueeeeees. You got more bones than me. You got bigger bones than me. You are larger than me, that's why you have so many, many bones. I broke my arm. I broke my arm. I'm so sad. I broke my arm. Had to go to hospital. I got the broken bone blueeees. (spoken) "All right."

Brenda: (off-screen) "Little Bill?"

(We are now back in reality.)

Brenda: "Are you ready for your x-ray?"

Little Bill: "I'm ready, mama."

Brenda: "That's my brave boy."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Then let's get you up here..."

(Dr. Clinkscales picks Little Bill up and puts him on the bed.)

Dr. Clinkscales: (off-screen) "And lay down."

(Little Bill lays down.)

Dr. Clinkscales: (while holding an apron.) "Now this special apron covers you up while we get a good x-ray of your arm."

(Dr. Clinkscales places the apron on Little Bill.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Now, we'll put your arm right here, so the camera can get a good picture."

Little Bill: "Ow!"

Brenda: "You're doing fine, baby."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Now, all you have to do is lye totally still for one minute."

Little Bill: "Can I do this?" (moves right leg.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Nope."

Little Bill: "How about this?" (wiggles fingers)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Nope. But you can wiggle your nose if you like"

Little Bill: "Like this?" (wiggles nose.)

(Little Bill and Dr. Clinkscales laugh)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Just like that. Now we're all set. We'll be back before you can count to five. (to Brenda) "This way, please."

(Dr. Clinkscales and Brenda head out the door.)

Little Bill: "Mama?"

Brenda: "Don't worry, honey. I'll be right in the next room."

Little Bill: "Okay."

(Brenda closes the door. The machine then starts.)

Little Bill: "One... Two..."

(The x-ray camera buzzes.)

Little Bill: "Three... Four..."

Dr. Clinkscales: "We're back. All done."

Little Bill: "I didn't get to five yet. Five."

(Brenda and Dr. Clinkscales chuckle while Clinkscales moves up the camera.)

Little Bill: "It didn't hurt, mama."

Brenda: "You were very brave."

Little Bill: "Can I see the picture of my bones now?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "Sure. But the x-ray has to be developed first. In the meantime, I like to check the ticker in all my patients."

Little Bill: "Ticker?"

Brenda: "That's what doctors call your heart."

Little Bill: "What's that?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "I use this to listen to your heart."

(Dr. Clinkscales uses the stethoscope on Little Bill's chest.)

Little Bill: "Can I listen to your heart?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "Sure." (Puts stethoscope on Little Bill as Little Bill listens to his heart."

Little Bill: "I can hear it." (giggles)

Nurse: "Doctor..."

(the nurse holds an envelope.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Thank you. Now let's see."

(Dr. Clinkscales opens the envelope and places the picture of Little Bill's x-ray on the board and turns on the light.)

Little Bill: "Is that my arm?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "Yup. And it looks like you've broken it, young man."

Little Bill: "Broken?"

Brenda: "But the doctor is going to fix your arm."

Little Bill: "How?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "By putting a cast on it so it can heal."

Little Bill: "A cast?"

Dr. Clinkscales:" "That's right. A cast is a hard shell that will protect your arm."

Little Bill: "Like a turtle shell?"

Dr. Clinkscales: (laughs) "Sort of. It keeps you from moving your arm too much while it heals. What do you say we get that cast on your arm?"

Little Bill: "Okay."

(We now fade to show the cast on Little Bill's arm while in a sling.")

Dr. Clinkscales: "How does that feel?"

Little Bill: (slightly moves sling.) "Heavy."

(Little Bill and Dr. Clinkscales laugh.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "Now remember, keep that arm nice and dry. And no more running around for awhile. Give your arm a chance to heal, okay?"

Little Bill: "Okey-doke."

Dr. Clinkscales: "You were a very brave patient, Little Bill. And this is for you."

(Dr. Clinkscales hands Little Bill the picture of his x-ray.)

Little Bill: "My x-ray."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Oh. I almost forgot to tell you about your medicine."

Little Bill: "I have to take medicine?"

Dr. Clinkscales: "Yup. A bowl of ice cream after dinner tonight."

Little Bill: "Really?" (to Brenda) "Did you hear that, mama? I have to eat ice cream."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Doctors orders."

Brenda: (chuckles) "Thank you, Dr. Clinkscales."

Dr. Clinkscales: "Bye now."

Brenda: "Bye."

Little Bill: "Thank you."

(All three of them walk out the door. Brenda and Little Bill return to the waiting room, where Alice the Great is reading a book.)

Dr. Clinkscales: "You take care of that arm, Little Bill." (winks.)

Little Bill: "Alice the Great, look. I got a cast."

Alice: "My goodness."

Brenda: "He was a very brave cowboy."

Alice: "I'm so proud of you, Little Bill." (kisses Little Bill.)

Little Bill: "When I grow up, I'm gonna be a doctor. So I can fix people's broken bones, too."

Alice: "A doctor? Well, I thought you were gonna be, uh, a cowboy."

Little Bill: "I'm gonna be a doctor and a cowboy. And a fireman, and a teacher."

('Alice the Great and Brenda chuckle.)

Alice: "Oh my goodness. You're gonna be busy."

(The camera zooms out of the hospital as the episode ends.)
